Union County


Union County is located in North Carolina  and includes a population just over 200,000. It was formed in 1842 from parts of Mecklenburg and Anson County. It has a total area of 640 square miles. Popular events held in Union County include the Queens Cup Steeplechase, a major annual horse race as well as the Union County Boll Weevil Festival, held every fall. Mint Hill, a major suburb of Charlotte also located in Union County, is home to the N.C. Korean Memorial and the Carl J. McEwen Historic Village. There are many parks and facilities within Union County for families to entertain their children and host events, picnics, birthday parties and more.

Popular communities and towns within Union County include Matthews, Indian Trail, Mint Hill, Stallings, Waxhaw, Weddington and Wingate.
